MICRODERMABRASION

THE MICRODERMABRASION
SOLUTION

Microdermabrasion is a minimally invasive procedure to renew overall skin tone and texture. This dermatological procedure gently removes the top layer of the skin to reduce hyperpigmentation, treat clogged pores, and improve the appearance of skin affected by acne, sun exposure, and signs of aging, including fine lines and wrinkles.

Microdermabrasion is a much less invasive facial treatment than dermabrasion, which is technically regarded as a surgical procedure used on more severe skin problems.

This procedure uses a special applicator with an abrasive surface to sand away the thick outer layer of the skin. The key result of this activity is rejuvenated and refreshed, younger-looking skin.

HOW DOES MICRODERMABRASION WORK?

There are a few different ways that microdermabrasion works. The most popular methods are:

Diamond-tip handpiece

Crystal microdermabrasion

Hydradermabrasion

A diamond-tip handpiece gently exfoliates dead cells on your skin while immediately suctioning them off.

The depth of the abrasion generally depends on the pressure applied by your caregiver, who sets it prior to the procedure, depending on your unique needs.

This treatment uses a crystal-emitting handpiece to gently spray fine crystals on the treatment area to rub away the outer layer of the skin.

In this procedure, dead skin cells are also suctioned off immediately, just like with the diamond-tip wand.

This newer technique involves crystal-free exfoliation and infusion of certain products into the skin.

One of the primary results of this procedure is the stimulation of collagen production.

Age spots & Hyperpigmentation

One of the major benefits to this treatment is that it minimizes dark spots such as age/sunspots, post-acne dark marks that appear after pimples have healed, and melasma. By removing debris from the pores, microdermabrasion allows better penetration of skincare products, allowing them to work more effectively.

In one study, some patients were treated with microdermabrasion once every two weeks for 16 weeks. About 40% of these patients saw their age spots completely disappear. The patients who received microdermabrasion and a chemical peel had better results. Half of these patients saw their age spots completely disappear.

Acne scars & Enlarged pores

Microdermabrasion works best for certain types of depressed acne scars, which cause pits in the skin. This treatment only works for depressed acne scars that lie flat against the epidermis. It won’t improve ice pick scars, which are deeper than other acne scars.

Microdermabrasion may also be useful for people dealing with active mild-to-moderate breakouts. In addition to removing dead skin cells that can clog pores, the procedure also reduces excess oil (sebum) from these pores.

By removing this debris along with the top layer of skin, you can enjoy a smoother, brighter, and more even complexion with fewer fine lines and deeply cleaned pores.

Skin texture & Fine lines

As we age, our collagen production declines—along with the quality of skin’s appearance. During the treatment, microcrystals remove months of built-up dead skin cells, allowing your skin to glow like never before and improve its texture.

Microdermabrasion can be used to treat coarse skin. The microcrystals in the treatment help remove the outer layer of dead skin cells, revealing smooth new tissue underneath. It can also help reduce the appearance of fine lines and stimulate collagen production, which may prevent deeper wrinkles.
